Field Engineer

Description:

We have openings for seasoned engineers who are interested in joining a tight knit but growing company and have experience across a broad range of products.

Must be very customer focused while delivering top notch engineering services. Ability to completely document all aspects of project work is a must.

Skills:

We are looking for engineers who have a very strong background in current Novell/Linux and Microsoft products as well as experience with Routers, Switches and Firewall product installation and configuration.

Specifics include

  • ZenWorks Configuration Manager
  • Novell GroupWise/Microsoft Exchange 2003-2010
  • Novell OES 2
  • Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server
  • Cisco CCNA or other manufacturer equivalent
  • VM WebSphere

Duties:

  • Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
  • Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
  • Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects.

Travel will be required for this job with some overnight stays. You must have your own vehicle that is capable of transporting network equipment such as Servers, UPS, and Switches etc.
